We talked buffalo chicken. We talked decor. We talked commercials and we talked beer! But now, it’s time for the extra point of any good Super Bowl party – the SWEETS!

You’ve got your sheet cakes decorated to look like a field, your ice cream sundae bar, your grandma’s chocolate chip cookies. But how about a dessert that is as sweet as it is SUPER?

We asked our Pastry Chef, Angela, to come up with the perfect Super Bowl Dessert. And yes, she offered up her recipe! Feast your eyes on the Chocolate Bacon Brownie Bliss!

For the Brownie:

1/2 pound chocolate
1/2 pound butter
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup flour

Melt the chocolate and butter together.
Stir in the sugar.
Stir in the eggs and vanilla.
Fold in the remaining dry ingredients.
Pour in a baking ban (in the 8″x10″ range)
Bake in 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes.

For Chocolate Ganache:

8 oz chocolate
1 cup cream
1 tablespoon butter

Scald the cream with the butter.
Remove from heat and add chocolate.
Stir until smooth.

For Bacon Brittle:

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup corn syrup
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup cooked and crispy bacon crumbles

Cook the sugar, water and corn syrup in a non-reactive sauce pan until it starts to caramelize (reaches around 300 degrees).
Remove from heat and add butter, baking soda and bacon.
Stir until even consistency.
Pour on a greased or parchment lined sheet pan and cook until hard like candy.

Take the cook brownies (still in pan) and frost with the chocolate ganache, once ganache cools to a frosting-like consistency.

Break the brittle into small pieces and sprinkle on top of the ganache.

Cut the brownies to desired size and serve.
