Hey gang! Keith here.

According to the “fun calendar”, today is National Sandwich Day. Mmmmm.

Instead of sharing some great shots of our past sandwiches, I decided to throw a curve ball at our kitchen team this morning.

Chef Joe, Chef Angela and Chef Janet were busy with prep work and I sent down a challenge to them. It was simple – I wanted those three to go into the walk-in cooler and create a never-before-made sandwich to wow our readers. They recorded the process as they worked and here are the fruits of their labor… enjoy!

First, Chef Joe emerged from the walk-in with some fennel and started to crisp that up.

It's Baseball Season!

It’s Baseball Season!

Although there were a few games the other day, here in the Northeast – today is opening day. The Red Sox and Yankees are currently playing and we’re still shoveling snow off our Cookery steps.

We needed to feel the warmth that baseball season sends to the hearts of fans. So, thanks to the amazing artistry of Robert Norman Photography, we are revisiting our baseball themed pop-up dinner.

In July of 2015 we shared an amazing meal ON the field at Dodd Stadium – home to the Connecticut Tigers professional baseball team.

As guests arrived in the stadium concourse, they were greeted with a signature "Orange Crush" cocktail.

In the event business, there are the essentials – amazing location, amazing food (OF COURSE!), amazing drinks, amazing floral, amazing clothes, amazing guests and so much more.

However, the photos of all these amazing things are what we can cherish for the years to come.

That’s where the AMAZING photographers come in. Silently doing their job, capturing all those special moments and making them even-lasting.

When we started to work with Patti Murphy on redesigning our website, we knew that we wanted to showcase the best of the best photographs and sent out the requests. Our friends in the photography world didn’t hesitate to share their photos from previous celebrations we worked side-by-side on.

We want to highlight those people who currently have their art on our new site. We can’t recommend them enough and would more than happy to talk to you about any of them!

Juli, one of our fabulous Event Coordinators, was at the helm and took her inspiration from ‘Blancanieves’ – a Spanish take on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale Snow White. It is the story of an enchanting daughter of a famed matador who flees her wicked stepmother to join a band of bullfighting dwarfs…

We are so proud to announce that we have been named the 2014 Connecticut Caterer of the Year by the CT Restaurant Association (CRA). The award was announced at the CRA Awards Dinner at the Mohegan Sun on Tuesday, December 2, 2014.

We first won the award in 2012, making it two out of three years for us as we continue to celebrate our 30th anniversary in business.

“It is always a true joy to win an award like this,” said Linda Sample, our fearless leader. “There are so many wonderful catering companies in Connecticut; to receive this award is a real testament to the A Thyme to Cook team that make it all happen.”

Thank you to everyone who nominated us and then voted for us. Our passion for your events grows ever stronger!

We would like to introduce ourselves to you and let you get to know us a little better.

Spend some Thyme with Rachael – our Executive Chef.

Rachael’s favorite part of designing a celebration is creating a relationship with the clients to discover their needs when it comes to food.

One of the most unusual things she remembers from a wedding was … well … if she told you, she’d have to end you…
