For over 30 years, A Thyme to Cook has been a leader in the catering industry throughout southern New England. We know who we are and what we do best.  We strive not to be the biggest – we strive to deliver excellence at all times.

We are responsive to dietary diversity such as gluten free, vegan and vegetarian. Because we produce all our own foods (no frozen or pre-made), we are extremely flexible and revise menus and presentation according to changes in weather or availability of ingredients. As a boutique caterer, we want to reflect your tastes and desires in executing an event. We want to listen to you and get to know your style. Our menu planning process is unique for each client, thus, we combine our years of skill with your wishes, in order to create an amazing culinary experience for you and your guests.

We are passionate about flavor and freshness, locally sourced ingredients, relationships with local farmers and purveyors, exceeding client expectations, learning new cultural influences, being green and socially responsible, providing continuous education for our team and paying attention to logistical details. We are passionate about our team, working to bring out the best of each other’s talents with synergy and humor.

A Thyme to Cook was named Connecticut Caterer of the Year in 2012 and 2014, and is a 19-time finalist and 3-time recipient of the Catered Arts Through Innovative Excellence (CATIE) Award. After years of honing her care-taking philosophy teaching nursing, company founder Linda Sample uses that philosophy to create a different sort of care-taking – in the form of cuisine, design, and service. Linda’s relationship with caterers throughout the world, while serving on the board of the International Caterers Association, has helped shape A Thyme To Cook to what it is today.
